The Richie Special - $6.99

Pugsley Pizza - 590 E 191 St. Bronx, NY 10458
Phone: (718)-365-0327

For $6.99 at Pugsley's, you can enjoy a slice of pizza, one of their famous chicken rolls, and a 16oz fountain soda. This special, also known as "The Richie", is one of many great deals you can find at this pizza spot.

Although the common visits to Pugsley Pizza are made on the walk home from the Fordham bars, you may find yourself there more often than usual. Now that Fordham has altered the Walsh gate entrance in order to stay open for 24/7, the much shorter walk makes it an even better reason to get your pizza crave on. The deals don't stop there! Try the "Guy Special" for 2 slices of pizza, three garlic knots, and a Snapple. Tell Sal the owner that Mike on the football team sent you, he may give you a free napkin.

Buon Appetito!

2 Entrées Combo - $6.39

Little China City - 371 E Fordham Rd. Bronx, NY 10458

In light of the 2015 Chinese New Year, what better way to celebrate as a Fordham Student than by heading over to China City?

For $6.39 ($6.96 after tax), you get 2 Entrées and 1 side. Also, show your Fordham ID and receive a free drink of any choice.

On my visit, I decided to get the Lo Mein as my side (the noodles on the left), the General Tso's Chicken as Entrée number 1 (bottom portion), and the Grilled Bourbon Chicken as Entrée number 2 (top portion). Little China City is an awesome spot for a quick bite to eat at an even greater price.

Here are a few pictures of the atmosphere and what to expect!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

I hope you guys enjoy!

Chicken Sandwich Combo $7.99

Primavera Cafe' - 387 E Fordham Rd. Bronx, NY10458

Big meals do not necessarily have to cost you big bucks. At Primavera Cafe', their Sandwich Combo deal definitely backs this statement up. For $7.99, you can get a grilled chicken hero with bacon, swiss cheese, coleslaw, lettuce, tomatoes, Russian dressing and a drink. The meal also comes with a side of chips and pickles. There are plenty of substitutes instead of chicken so don't worry, the options don't stop there.

Before I left for the grocery store a few days ago I went to ask my roommate Mason if he wanted to tag along. Unfortunately, he was busy eating his fourth meal of the day (He's a big fella). It looked like he was really enjoying his sandwich so I asked where he bought it and for how much. Voila'! Mason thankfully introduced me to Primavera Cafe' and their enormous menu full of great deals. As an Offensive Lineman that needs to maintain a certain weight, Mason takes great food at great prices very seriously. Take my word and check Primavera Cafe' out! Don't worry about leaving hungry, the sandwiches are huge!

Homemade Sloppy Joes - $11.57

Homemade Sloppy Joes

This past weekend was Superbowl Sunday. Every year, my college roommates and I decide to each cook a little something rather than order a few dozen wings from Howl (nothing against Howl's Wings, they're awesome). This time, I decided to cook up some Sloppy Joes as my contribution. For $11.57, I was able to serve 6 Sloppy Joes. This price means that each Sloppy Joe came out to be just under $2.00. Follow the instructions below to make your own, enjoy!

Ingredients:

Hamburger buns ($2.00)
1 lb. of Ground beef or turkey ($5.19)
Sloppy Joe Sauce ($1.89)
Pepper Jack Cheese ($2.49)

Directions:

1. At Medium-High, thoroughly cook the 1 lb. of ground beef on top of a skillet until all of the meat turns brown.

2. Stir in the one can of Sloppy Joe Sauce; heat through.

3. Serve on hamburger buns.

4. Add Pepper Jack Cheese

Pepperoni Pizza - $5.99

Little Caesars Pizza - 2537 Decatur Avenue
Bronx, NY 10458

With all this cold weather, there is no better way to heat things up than with one of Little Caesar's Hot-N-Ready Pizzas. For $5.99 ($6.52 after Tax), you can get an entire pepperoni pizza that feeds about 2-3 people. Little Caesars is right off of Fordham Road on Decatur Avenue. This location makes it easier of a walk for those students on campus closest to the Metro North (Freshman and Seniors). Since I am from Brooklyn, the self proclaimed Pizza Capital of the World, I was extremely skeptical of this pizza spot. However, after my college roommates recommended that I try one, I was not disappointed. It took about 15 seconds for the man behind the register to hand me my pizza after I had ordered it. Given how quickly the time frame was, I was pretty nervous on how fresh the pizza was going to be. To my surprise, I opened the box on the spot to double check and noticed a seemingly fresh pizza. After the short walk back to campus, my roommates and I quickly devoured the pie. The cheese was still gooey and the pepperonis were still crunchy. I definitely recommend this meal to students looking for a quick bite to eat.

Price for the meal: 9/10

Quality: 6.5/10

Mission Statement

Hello everyone! My name is Mike and I am currently a senior at Fordham University. As a student, I understand the importance of eating on a budget. Nowadays, the insane prices of meal plans are almost forcing college kids to survive by not purchasing one. However, money may not be the issue. Some college students choose not to get a meal plan in order to prepare themselves of living on their own. Despite your situation, it is never a bad idea to learn the ins and outs of living without one. Furthermore, my blog posts will show either a cheap bite to eat near the Bronx campus of Fordham or an easy and cost efficient home cooked meal with step by step directions. I hope you enjoy!

Buon Appetito!
